The British Pullman is the British leg of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express experience and has run from London Victoria since 1982. Its dozen Art Deco carriages, among them Audrey, Cygnus, Ione, Phoenix and Zena, were built between 1925 and 1932 and carry original marquetry and brass. Celia, a private dining car designed by Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin, was added for celebrations.
All journeys are round trips from Platform 2 at Victoria. Signature days include The Golden Age of Travel through the Kent countryside, the Great British Sunday Lunch, a Murder Mystery Lunch, and excursions to Blenheim Palace, Highclere Castle, Bath, Chatsworth and the Bombay Sapphire distillery. Menus are overseen by chef Jon Freeman and served at tables for two or four.
The train is diesel hauled, most often by GB Railfreight Class 66 or heritage Class 47 locomotives, with an occasional steam day such as Worcester by Steam.
