Intercity is the budget-priced excursion brand of the Locomotive Services group, administered from the same Hayle office as Statesman Rail. It uses air-conditioned Mark 1 and Mark 2 carriages in InterCity livery and keeps prices down by offering reserved First Class seats with a buffet rather than full dining.

The appeal is the traction. Trains are hauled by the group's heritage main line diesels and electrics, including Class 86 and 87 electrics, Class 47s and 50s and the unique Class 89 89001 Avocet, which returns to public service in October 2026 on a Crewe to Glasgow trip.

Tours are mostly single days on the West Coast Main Line, the Great Eastern and the Midlands, with pick-ups at Crewe, Preston, Carlisle, Milton Keynes and London.
