The Electric Boogaloo is an Intercity enthusiast tour formed of Mark 1 carriages with a Class 86 and a Class 87 top and tail. It starts at Crewe and picks up at Tamworth Low Level, Milton Keynes Central and London Liverpool Street.
The itinerary covers the North London line, Liverpool Street, Stratford, Barking, Shoeburyness, Ockendon, Shenfield, Southend Victoria, the Temple Mills and Coppermill lines, Bishops Stortford, Stansted Airport and Cambridge, many of which rarely see electric locomotives. A buffet car is carried and passengers may bring their own picnic.
A rare-track enthusiast tour; the Thames estuary near Leigh is on the right heading east, but most of the route has no single-side highlight.
Sides are given facing the direction of travel. Miles are approximate from the start of the journey.
