A short steam-hauled lunch trip from Edinburgh over the Forth Bridge and along the Fife coast towards Kirkcaldy.
Steam Dreams' Forth Bridge Lunchtime Tour leaves Edinburgh Waverley at 11:00 and crosses the Forth Bridge, with views across to the road bridges and out to sea. The train then runs into Fife along the coast towards Kirkcaldy, passing the castle and beach at Aberdour, Burntisland and Kinghorn, returning to Edinburgh at about 15:45.
The tour can be booked on its own or as an optional extra day on Steam Dreams' Edinburgh Christmas Market tour from London. The rostered locomotive is LNER A4 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley, holder of the post-war steam speed record, though the operator notes that locomotives may be substituted.
Heading east along the Fife coast the Firth of Forth, Inchcolm and the view back to Edinburgh are on the right; the road bridges are on the left on the Forth Bridge itself.
Sides are given facing the direction of travel. Miles are approximate from the start of the journey.
