Three-day Midland Pullman land cruise to Inverness with a day trip on the Kyle line to Kyle of Lochalsh opposite Skye.

The Lord of the Isles Pullman is the Midland Pullman's signature Highland tour. Day one runs north from the Home Counties and Midlands, crossing the Forth Bridge and climbing through the Cairngorms National Park via Drumochter and Aviemore to Inverness for an evening arrival.

Day two is the reason to go: the train works the Kyle line west across Scotland past Loch Luichart, Achnasheen and Loch Carron to Kyle of Lochalsh, with Skye across the water, before returning to Inverness. Day three heads home through the Pass of Killiecrankie and Stirling.

Hotels in Inverness are not included so passengers choose their own. Pullman Dining includes all meals with wine pairings; First Class non-dining includes tea, coffee and light snacks.

Before you book: charter trains depend on locomotive availability and Network Rail engineering work. Steam can be swapped for diesel at short notice, so check the operator’s terms for what happens then. When you book, ask for a seat on the side we recommend: most operators allocate seats but will note a preference.
