Midland Pullman day trip to the English Riviera, running along the Dawlish sea wall to Torquay and Paignton.

The Torbay Riviera Pullman brings the blue HST to Devon. The May 2027 running starts at Hull with pick-ups at Doncaster and Derby before heading south through Birmingham and Bristol to Exeter, then along the Exe estuary and the Dawlish sea wall to Newton Abbot, Torquay and Paignton.

Passengers have the afternoon in Torquay or Paignton, with Dartmouth reachable by the Dartmouth Steam Railway from Paignton, before the return.

As on all Midland Pullman trips, Pullman Dining includes breakfast and dinner with wine, while First Class is non-dining with refreshments.

Before you book: charter trains depend on locomotive availability and Network Rail engineering work. Steam can be swapped for diesel at short notice, so check the operator’s terms for what happens then. When you book, ask for a seat on the side we recommend: most operators allocate seats but will note a preference.
