The Northern Belle's Christmas lunch programme is its busiest time of year. The train tours the country through late November and December, offering lunch circulars from a long list of departure points including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol and Gloucester.
Each trip follows a scenic loop of four to six hours while passengers enjoy a champagne reception, a multi-course festive lunch with seasonal produce, wine, a cheese course and mince pies, with musicians in the carriages.
Seats are at tables for two or four in the 1930s style Pullman cars. Moet & Chandon and Krug upgrades are available on most dates.
